Posting Jobs to Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter

If you hang out on social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter, you can now quickly post your jobs to those services, and links back to Catch the Best with the right tracking codes will be generated for you automatically.

As shown in the screenshot below, when you look at the details for any of your open positions, in the top right corner you’ll see links to post that job to the social services.

Post job ads to Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter

When you click on any of those buttons, you’ll be prompted to connect your Facebook/LinkedIn/Twitter account, if you haven’t already. Once you’ve done that, you can enter a quick message and that will posted to your activity stream in one of those services. A new tracking source will be added to your position, and applicants that apply via that link in your activity stream will be associated with that source.

Now it’s super-easy to let your network know about an open job.

Feature Watch: Feed your jobs

This morning I released an update to the application that provides an ATOM feed for your job listings. This allows you to publish your jobs any place that will take a feed, like a widget for your blog, or your Facebook page. You need to have the public job listing option turned on for your account, then you’ll be able to get the feed from yourdomain.catchthebest.com/jobs.atom (yourdomain.catchthebest.com/jobs is the normal view for your public job listing).

Vote Blinding

One of the features I like about Catch the Best is the vote blinding. If you haven’t yet voted on a candidate, you don’t get to see how others have voted on that candidate. I like this feature because it helps prevent group-think — once one or two people make their opinion of a candidate known, it can be hard to get dissenting opinions.

However, not everybody likes this feature. :) So, by popular demand, you can now turn this feature off for your team. After choosing the Settings link from the top navigation, choose the Vote Hiding link to turn it off.
